Music Inspo: Real people

This song is my jam. Real People by Ice Cube and Common  is the lick. 2016 had some really good tunes, so this one is definitely following me in 2017. Something about this song, the beat, the words, the drums in the background, Common preaching, Ice spitting straight facts, just flows. The chorus is the start to an inspirational movement.

“I’m callin’ all the real people (real people)
Let ’em know that the change gon’ come
Tell me where the real people? (Real people)
It’s time to wake up and stand as one
Callin’ all the real people (real people)
You still got our faith nah we ain’t none
Tell me where the real people out there
The real people out there”If you say that first line didn’t motivate you then I don’t know what will.  “It’s time to wake up and stand as one”. Indeed it is! When will the people become ONE and not a billion? When will we recognize that we are all humans who want to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion? When will we stand on that line as ONE?I don’t care what your color is
All my real people, real people love this, love this
I don’t care what your color is
All my real people, real people love this, love this
I don’t care what your color is
All my real people, real people love this, love this
I don’t care what your color is
All my real people, real people love this, love this”Be the change.” This is how the song “ends”. You can do anything you want in this world. You can change. However, everyone’s change is different, it doesn’t matter your race, gender, sexuality, identity, financial background , or simply your age. All that matters is that you love it (whatever you’re doing), you’re real, and that you be the darn change!

Well, that’s all for today.

Since it’s President Obama’s farewell speech tonight I hope  he will touch upon change, race, freedom, kindness, and respect.

Remember this: We all have to start somewhere. It is up to us to choose the battle we want to fight. As we get older we make our own decisions, when we get wiser we start to make changes, when we were younger we built a lot (buildings, houses, ourselves, etc). Now, it’s time for us to grow. Grow with each other, grow with our nation, grow with music, and finally laugh with real people. Let’s come together. Let’s be one. Let’s change.

Confidence. Dream. Inspire.

See you next Tuesday for #TalkTuesday!

Peace and Love,

Taylor
